Overview  Designed to give students a foundation in the disciplines which constitute business studies, together with the opportunity for in-depth study of a functional specialism. Majors available in the South West are Accounting and Public Practice. With a part on campus and part online combination majors can be completed in the areas of Electronic Commerce, Information Systems, Management, Human Resources and Marketing.

Overview  The Graduate Diploma of Education (Primary) course provides appropriate teacher preparation for generalist primary teaching. Graduates with relevant qualifications in their undergraduate degree may also be able to teach in secondary schools and middle schools.
The Graduate Diploma of Education (Primary) course requires students to spend a substantial period of time teaching in schools as part of a coordinated program of practice teaching. First semester requires one day per week in schools and block practicum placements. Second semester has a substantial block practicum.

Overview  The Master of Education (MEd) provides an opportunity for professionals concerned with educational practice to undertake coursework in a field of interest to them and to gain an internationally recognised postgraduate qualification. The program provides students with knowledge and understandings across a range of specialist areas suited to each student's needs and choices. It will support graduates in professional advancement as teachers and administrators.

Electronic Commerce*

Overview  The Bachelor of Business with a major in Electronic Commerce explores general business principles relating to the world of electronic data interchange and Internet business. The capstone unit entails designing a business plan for an Internet based business. The other four units offer the opportunity to become proficient in the technical aspects of interactive multimedia.

Overview  Social Work at Edith Cowan University is dedicated to Social Justice, Human Rights, Caring and the delivery of generic professional Social Work education with a regional, rural and remote orientation. 
Social work graduates work in a variety of settings, including community centres, local, state, and federal government offices, prisons, hospitals, activist organisations, NGOs, clinics, and schools.  The course equips people to work in a range of occupations, including those labelled 'social worker', but also others concerned with community development, social justice, counselling, activism, social policy, and the management of community agencies.

Overview  Provides an opportunity for well-qualified individuals with an interest in surfing to pursue the scientific and technological aspects of the surfing industry. Students acquire the skills necessary for management in this diverse, expanding and exciting industry. Areas covered include ocean sciences, materials technology, event management, human biology, business studies as well as contemporary issues in surfing. Students may go on to a Graduate Diploma of Education after this course and earn teaching qualifications.

Wine Marketing

Overview  The University Preparation Course (UPC) prepares students for university level study by teaching the required skills for academic success. The UPC is designed for school leavers and mature age students. The UPC consists of four compulsory units: Learning at University; Research and Writing Processes; Numeracy Tools and Accessing Knowledge.  Successful completion of the UPC provides students with minimum entry to most courses at ECU subject to subject prerequisites and quotas.
