Business
The following TAFE qualifications meet entry requirements into our Business courses:

TAFE Certificate IV TAFE Diploma TAFE Adv. Diploma Exemptions (if any) Comments
All All All

Completed Diploma and Advanced Diploma in a related area (like management or accounting) may be eligible for up to 6 units at the discretion of the course coordinator.

Completed Diploma and Advanced Diploma in a non-related area (like information technology) may be eligible for up to 4 units at the discretion of the course coordinator.

 

Computer Technology
The following TAFE qualifications meet entry requirements into our Computer Technology courses:

SW TAFE Certificate IV SW TAFE Diploma SW TAFE Adv. Diploma Exemptions (if any) Comments

Completed Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Information Technology may be eligible for up to 4 units at the discretion of the course coordinator.
Completed Diploma and Advanced Diploma in a non-related area (like Business) may be eligible for up to 2 units at the discretion of the course coordinator.

 

Creative Industries
The following TAFE qualifications meet entry requirements into our Creative industries course:

Completed Diploma and Advanced Diploma in a related area (like Art and Design) may be eligible for up to 6 units at the discretion of the course coordinator.
Completed Diploma and Advanced Diploma in a non-related area (like information technology) may be eligible for up to 4 units at the discretion of the course coordinator.

An additional prerequisite to enter the Visual Arts stream of this program is a portfolio and interview.


Education
The following TAFE qualifications meet entry requirements into our Education course:

Students with a completed Diploma of Children's Services can receive up to three units advanced standing into the Bachelor of Education (Primary).

 

Nursing
The following TAFE qualifications meet entry requirements into our Nursing course:

Currently registered enrolled nurses may receive up to four units advanced standing.

Students with a completed Diploma of Enrolled Nursing may gain up to eight units advanced standing.

 

Social Work
The following TAFE qualifications meet entry requirements into our Social Work course:

Completed Diploma and Advanced Diploma candidates may be eligible of up to 4 units advanced standing at the discretion of the course coordinator

You cannot work as a Social Worker in Australia unless you have this degree: a Bachelor of Social Work.

Upon completion of this degree you also have recongnised counselling skills.

Surf Science and Technology
The following TAFE qualifications meet entry requirements into our Surf Science course:

Diploma candidates may be eligible for up to four units of advanced standing at the discretion of the course coordinator.

For a complete list of ECU Courses or for a list of which TAFE courses are running at South West Regional College of TAFE, please contact the appropriate organisation at the end of the guide.

• The only TAFE Courses are Certificate IV and above are represented on this list, as Certificates I, II and III do not meet ECU entry requirements.

• The content of this list is subject to change without notice, so please verify the information on this list with the appropriate contact at the end of the guide.

• Meeting entry requirements is not a guaranteed means of entry into a university program. To find other factors that apply, please contact ECU Student Administration.

• This guide assumes the prospective student has no other qualifications or previous university experience. If a prospective student has completed TEE subjects, other TAFE courses of Certificate IV level or above, or has previous university experience, they should contact ECU Student Administration to assess their best means of entry into an ECU program.
